C-MAP
composition and movement analysis program
Founded in 2013 by Dwight Rodrigazo, C-MAP was established to even the field of knowledge of creating dance in the Philippines and in Asia, as well as to cultivate the intuition, and creativity of choreographers and dance teachers.
C-MAP for Choreographers and Dance Teachers
Held annually, the program is now led by The Project DP Artistic Director Razel Mitchao and Associate Artistic Director Akira Arrieta Abao—appointed as C-MAP Directors by its founder. It provides a space for artists to freely explore and express ideas through movement. Open to choreographers, dance teachers, and artists across disciplines, C-MAP emphasizes that dance—regardless of genre—begins with the simplest human movement and evolves into a profound artistic expression. The program continues to grow, integrating insights from the ongoing choreographic research of Rodrigazo’s protégés, Razel Mitchao and Akira Arrieta Abao.
C-MAP Festival Internationale
The C-MAP Choreographers’ Festival Internationale was envisioned to provide a platform for emerging choreographers, equipping them with the technique and creativity to cultivate their passion for the art of making dance. Its mission is to broaden access to knowledge and foster the development of choreography in the Philippines. This biennial festival stands as the graduation of the C-MAP choreographers’ 2-year journey, where they celebrate their growth and debut their artistic voices on stage this event also gathers both local and international choreographers, dance schools and dance companies to showcase their artistry and share experiences, insights, and creative processes.
Each edition highlights new choreographic works from the graduates that bring fresh perspectives to dance as both an art form and a way of life.
The week-long event features workshops, lectures, forums, exhibitions, and gala performances. Participants also engage with renowned dance masters, exchange ideas with peers, and build lasting professional connections.
Though brief in duration, the festival’s spirit endures — inspiring creativity, sparking collaboration, and building unity through art. Through this growing community, dancers and choreographers transcend boundaries and nurture a new generation of artists who embody peace, harmony, and an enduring creative spirit.
